Heavy Duty Metal Shelves

Order 2 of these shelves to start on our basement “wall”. We will order some more once we assess the rest of the space.

Space Saving Hangers

These are the space saving hangers I told you about.

Multipurpose Clips

These have a variety of uses (I love to use them to keep opened food bags closed), but would also come in handy to help keep Kris’ Christmas paper tidy.

Recycling Bins

Kris and I discussed a tidier way to keep the different colors of recyclable glass organized. These clear plastic bins would fit the shelves well, or you could line some of these against the wall and label which recyclables go in which bins.

Sports Equipment Storage

I stumbled upon this nifty sports equipment organizer for your yoga equipment, weights, bolster, etc. For the bike rack/accessories, sled, golf bag, and other larger unwieldy equipment there are a variety of options but none of them are a perfect fit besides another one of these shelves.

Microwave/Pantry Storage

This smaller shelf will fit perfectly in the space next to the dryer (where the black shelf is now) to offer some more usable pantry storage space. It should be deep enough for the microwave, but let’s hold off ordering until I can measure and make sure tomorrow.

Storage Bins

To utillize more shelf space and keep your things safe from dust and moisture, I recommend replacing the bulky crates and using these $4 bins from Target instead. Order them for pickup or go buy in store, because shipping tends to crack a few.

Shovel & Rake Organizer

I recommend this Rubbermaid organizer for your long handled tools like rakes, shovels, and brooms.

S Hooks

These S hooks will come in handy for hanging things on the utility shelves (I hung the Christmas bags on the back of the shelf in the zen room) as well as hanging plants and a variety of other household uses.

Mirror Hanging Hardware

To properly hang the mirror in the plant corner, you need this kit. I have some heavy duty hanging hooks that I will bring in case the ones included don’t seem sturdy enough.

Hanging File Folders

These hanging file folders with a reinforced extra-wide bottom would give you all a great place to sort your documents. You could each have a drawer in the filing cabinet to store tax and financial documents, plays, etc.

Grow Light

This GE LED Grow Light has the best reviews I’ve found and this particular version (PAR38) feeds your plants better than other versions. Reviewers do say that it’s very large so that should be taken into account with a floor lamp. (Happy to shop out a floor lamp if you need. If you already have one, just make sure it’s one where the light bulb faces down or is flexible.)

Laundry Sorter

To tidy up the laundry area, I recommend getting a laundry sorter. Depending on how y’all do laundry (all together, separately, towels/linens, etc.) you may want to tweak the amount of bins you need. This laundry sorter gets rave reviews and I like that it has a hanging rod so you can put clean clothes on hangers straight from the dryer. There are lots of good smaller options as well that get good reviews.
